When you talk about change to a CEO or to anybody, immediately two words I can make in the discussion, creativity and innovation. I notice a lot of confusion around, around those two concepts. Sometimes, people talking about creativity and innovation, a bit like, synonymous. No, not at all. And that's what I learned with philosophy. It's the necessity of clear definition. We don't have numbers in philosophy, but we need the rigor. And the rigor is achieved with definitions. So, let's move a bit forward, and let's give, let's give two definitions. Of course, connected to the video, the, just video number three. I give, as a definition of innovation the capacity of a company to change reality. To change the market. To launch new product. That's my definition of innovation. And I give as a definition of creativity. The skin of somebody who easily change his or her perception. [SOUND] Huh, why don't we act like this? The two words, creativity and innovation are completely different. They've of course, belong, both. To change. They're both connected to a way of changing. The rest is completely different. You can have innovation without creativity. And I see, and I respect. Of course, sometimes, you need to innovate to change or. For example you're closed on Sunday, and you decide, okay, we're going to open on Sunday. It's hard work. It's, you need to organize, but you don't need four hours brainstorming to suddenly have, it's mostly about innovation. And you can't have innovation without, of course, without creativity. On the other hand, you can have creativity without innovation. And sometimes it'll be sounds. One of example I have in my mind, is the mouse, the mouse of the computer. The mouse of the computer was invented at Xerox. What a beautiful change in perception. Imagine people with a keyboard Suddenly they have like [SOUND] a new, a completely new perception of data entry with a mouse. Beautiful change in perception. And they have some patents at Xerox, but they never succeeded in innovation. And some people went in other companies and, you know the story, so You can't have one without the other. You remember, you remember the video number three? To change is to change twice. The message comes here now. You need to innovate and to be creative. You need both. You need to be good twice. And the rules are completely different. A good innovation process you need to budget, you need to planning, you need a team, you need and you have problems out. A good creative process is completely different. It's about thinking, it's about brainstorming etcetera. So you have two types of change. They belong to the same change challenge. But they are completely different. I have a visual here to summarize what I said. You see how different they are. Creativity is a personal challenge. I am, or I'm not. Innovation is a company's challenge. We are, or we innovate or we don't. It's completely different. And, maybe just to, to summarize, let's say this thing. To innovate is to make something new in the system. To be creative is to think about a new system. So you see the two difference, innovation is about the making. Creativity is about thinking. Innovation, respect the rule of the system. Creativity is about thinking to a new system.
