Good day to everyone and welcome to titled Introduction to satellite communications. My colleagues and myself are really pleased to be with you and share our passion about communications satellites. By the way speaking about my colleagues well, before they introduce themselves, I can tell you that we're all working in the city of Toulouse, which is located southwest of France. And besides, it's a European capital of aerospace. So it is now time for some presentations, and I will be back with you in a couple of minutes. >> Hello my name is Natalie. I'm working as an associate professor at NSAIC, which is a school belonging to the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse in France. We'll be together in this MOOC to speak about modulation, demodulation and also about the satellite transmission channel. So have a good MOOC and see you soon. >> Hello, my name is Marin Carrere, and I am from the Signal and MS processing department at Telecom Paritech, Paris, France. My speciality knowledge in engineering and my concern is having, you learning. So enjoy yourself and have a nice MOOC. >> Hello, my name is Marie and I work as a professor at NSAIC like Natalie and Julia. We will be together frozen modulation and demodulation aspects so see you soon and have a good MOOC. >> Hi everybody my name is Alec Benadi and I am assistant professor at Telecom together we will discover a new way to learn about channel coding. I hope you will enjoy this MOOC. And see you on week number four. >> Greetings, my name is Laurent Franck, and I work as a professor for Télécom Bretagne, and I will be with you for every aspect related to satellite communication systems. Enjoy this MOOC. >> Hello, my name is. I am an associate professor at NSAIC, like Nathalie and Marie-Laure. I will talk about networking and satellite I hope you will enjoy this MOOC. >> So now you know who we are. And the title of this MOOC is Introduction to Satellite Communications. Every word is important. First it's an introductory course, next its about using satellites for telecommunication. So the course spans over six modules but you. You might wonder, what is exactly the workload for one module. Well let's consider that one module is about one week and during a week, you will have to work for say two to three hours of work. Okay, enough of talk now. It is time to open the door and step in. And again, in the name of the team I am wishing you all the best for this course. And we hope that you'll have a lot of fun learning or possibly rediscovering about the fantastic universe of communications satellite. At least as much fun as we had. [MUSIC]
