[MUSIC] Welcome back. I have another assignment for you that goes with this first module, now that your considering witch wine glasses you’re going to buy, we have top some wine to pour in them. Very soon we'll be doing some practice tasting you and I together at the same time. I'd like to send you out and have you buy a couple of wines for this module. I'd like you to buy a white wine and a red wine. So I'll give you some parameters for that. I'm not going to tell you specific brands to buy and if I accidentally mention a brand it's just accidental and I'm not endorsing any particular wine. But there are a lot of wines there that you can buy that will be suitable for us to begin to learn the mechanics of tasting. I would like to ask you to find the well stocked wine store, in the area where you live. And that's not a bad idea when you first go in to introduce yourself to the proprietor or maybe a knowledgeable sales person and tell him what you're up to. Tell him that you're taking a wine tasting class online. And that you need their help because you know what type of wines that you want to buy, but you don't know what wines taste like yet so you need their advice. So what I'd like you buy is a simple white wine and a simple red wine. The simple white wine could be a Pinot Grigio. Ask your shop person to find you a simple kind of a nondescript neutral white that may be between $6 or 7 and maybe $12 at the most. I'm sure you'll find a lot of them that are available. If you can state the preference to them tell them you rather have it be on the dry side and otherwise not sweet tasting. And also buy a bottle of red. Buy a simple red you could buy a merlot or a blended red. And again, you should be able to find a good assortment of these lines. For between $7 or $8 and maybe $10 or $12. On further thought, while you're at it, why not buy three bottles of each if that's doable because we're going to use these for some follow up exercises. And I think you'll just be very happy if you have extra bottles of each. So a simple white wine, a simple red wine, and introduce yourself to the clerk. Make friends with them and tell them that they're going to be your adviser as you come out and buy wines for this class. In future modules, I'm going to be more specific about what types of wines you buy, which varietals I want you to buy, whether I want them to be simple and fruity, or whether I want them to be woody and stylized. So having a good person to advise you on those purchases, especially as a novice. I think it's a very, very good idea. And they will have a lot of fun helping you through these modules.
